Since our inception in 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio, with a women's hygiene drive, we have expanded our efforts to provide year-round program offerings and projects. Our focus remains on serving underserved communities, striving to bring equitable resources and enriching life experiences to all individuals within them.
At Jar of Sunshine Inc., we believe in the holistic development of individuals, recognizing that mental, social, and physical well-being are essential to daily life. By concentrating on literacy, wellness, and the arts, we aim to enhance the fabric of every community we engage with.
While our organization places a special emphasis on serving underserved BIPOC women and children, we are committed to inclusivity and do not discriminate based on race, gender, ethnicity, or religion. At JOS, we firmly believe that literacy is one of the primary gateways to exploring the world. Through literacy, individuals become more well-rounded, constantly expanding their knowledge beyond personal boundaries. Some of our key literacy initiatives include publishing books, engaging with local schools and museums, hosting storytime sessions with youth, and donating hundreds of books to those in need!
At JOS, we consider wellness to be a holistic endeavor. We believe in nurturing mental, emotional, and physical well-being as integral parts of a healthy lifestyle. Our wellness programming prioritizes the needs of underserved communities, aiming to promote comprehensive wellness for all. Each year, we organize a toiletry drive to support unhoused women in local communities, alongside meal donations to address food insecurity within these same areas.
At JOS, our passion for the arts knows no bounds! We deeply value the benefits of both performing and fine arts, and we are dedicated to fostering programs that cultivate and enhance these skills. Our diverse array of arts programs includes offerings such as private voice lessons, after school programming, in-school master classes, College Convos: Careers in the Arts, and many more exciting opportunities!
